Scape East at a glance

Scape East opened in May 2012, and before any students we housed LOCOG members and dignitaries. Situated directly opposite from Queen Mary University, we’re also conveniently located for many other London universities with King’s College, UCL and UEA London just 20 minutes away by London Underground.

Spiral staircases and a double-height entrance at Scape East create a spacious and welcoming entrance. Copper and bronze is a recurring theme – from the illuminated canopy on top of the building to the cladding within. Our green roofs attract butterflies and bees and the ground water provides heat for the 25,000 square feet of educational space and the communal areas.

Our team of Scape Ambassadors organise events and can answer questions about the local area and life at Scape through our online forum. Some of the ambassadors even write for our blog, where topics ranging from exams revision tips to the best local markets.

Impeccable Design and Value for Money

The concept came from the Scape partners who enlisted leading interior designer Ab Rogers and design studio Praline bring their vision to life. The result is a superior alternative to traditional student housing; where striking design goes hand in hand with competitive prices.

The studios at Scape East offer a haven for study and relaxation. Inspiration comes from the efficiency of railcars, submarines and caravans and can be seen in the sleek, integrated storage present in every room. This extends into the en suite, where mirrors hide shelving and create a feeling of spaciousness. There are no ugly bare light bulbs thanks to recessed lighting, and this lends the studios a cosiness and warmth. Splashes of colour accent the furniture, heat panels and cleverly mounted cushion above the bed that provides a bonus sofa space. These bold shades vary with each floor, running throughout the corridors and onto the post boxes in the lobby.

Each room has been designed by a top interior designer and features a private en suite shower room, comfortable bed, integrated study area, fitted kitchenette and fantastic views across London.

Students enjoy amazing communal spaces with TV, Wifi, pool and foosball tables. Not to mention our delicious on-site restaurants, quiet areas, communal kitchen, private study spaces and The Gym.
